A lamp post lights the private dock Wednesday Janurary 5, 2005 that overlooks the marsh behind the Greyfield Inn on Cumberland Island, Georgia. Built in 1900, the grand mansion was the home of Margaret Ricketson, the daughter of Thomas Carnegie of Pittsburgh. In 1962, Margaret's daughter, Lucy R. Ferguson, opened Greyfield as an intimate luxury inn. (Stephen Morton for the New York Times)
