In the early 20th century, residents used newspaper to insulate the interior walls of this 18th-century cabin on the Point of Pines Plantation in Edisto Island, South Carolina. Spanning nearly two centuries, the cabin has seen many alteration such as a wood burning stove instead of a brick fireplace. A metal roof that replaced the cypress wood shingle roof.
